SoOOOO!!! Great news! 1.) Chris’ birthday gift to me yesterday, other than getting out of the hospital, was an engagement ring AND a pair of trekking poles! We are so very very excited. The smiles haven’t left our faces in over 24hours. 2.) Chris had a CT Scan 2 nights ago to follow-up on his treatment (or for “pleasure” as Chris wittingly responded in a questionnaire). Today we went to the Dr.’s to hear the results and I am thrilled to let you all know that his tumors (yes, even those nasty interventricular malignant lesions) have shrunk, drastically. In fact, his vision, which last week he had lost, is now corrected almost completely! Dr. Xavier is extremely happy with his response to this new regimen and is planning on keeping him on it. 3.) CMS, partial insurance, was awarded today as well, which means he can get the localized radiation that the Dr.’s feel he so desperately needs. All in all, it has been a great 2 days. As far as side effects goes, the only few that seem to be plaguing him now are lack of appetite (due to loss of taste and smell-his receptor cells were killed during chemo) and fatigue. Both manageable. Chris is working on a personally written post about his adventures to OH and CT, so check back in the next couple of days.
Thanks for coming!
